I had a situation with a team member and used Mentora to rehearse, precisely because I knew it would be a tougher conversation.
Mentora helps me remember things I might have forgotten a year ago. My memory works like this: once it is gone, it is gone. But it helps me recover that history to give more constructive feedback.
It is very easy to have a conversation where everyone just nods and agrees with you. Not Mentora: it shows you βlook, that is not quite rightβ. I think that is really great.
In my first feedback cycle at Sicoob I spent a lot more time, because I did not have Mentora yet. Today I get more done because I have it helping me.
When someone sends me a message and my first impulse is to respond in a directive way, I run the test with Mentora: am I being Sarah the fixer or Sarah the manager?
